The Partners
Mr Brian McPhail, FCPA, Dip. B. S. (Acc.), Registered Company Auditor
Brian joined the firm in 1972 and became a partner in 1976. He has been actively engaged with the Australian Society of Certified Practising Accountants on various committees relating to public accountancy. Brian's particular interest in the practice relates to assisting business clients to become more profitable, and both business and personal taxation.
Brian's other interests include being a member of the Council of the Royal Melbourne Golf Club, and formerly the Melbourne Girls' Grammar School Council, where he was Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Finance. Brian is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Box Hill Central, having been the Chapter President in 1990. He is currently a member of the Tax Agents Board of Victoria, since 1997, representing the accounting profession.
Mr. Wayne Durdin, CPA, Dip. B. S. (Acc.), Registered Company Auditor
Wayne joined the firm in 1980 after seven and a half years' experience in a large firm of accountants. Admitted as a partner in July 1990, Wayne has a sound knowledge of taxation, auditing and superannuation.
Obtaining his Certificate of Proper Authority in 1998, Wayne is also authorised to provide financial advice. Wayne also participates in Discussion Groups, representing the ASCPA on various committees, and has a keen interest in business management and finance which he puts to valuable use in assisting our clients improve their businesses, as well as in our own practice.
Mr. David Eva, ACA, CPA, Registered Company Auditor
David joined the firm as a partner in February 1997 after merging his own practice of L. S. Eva & Co. with McPhail & Partners Pty. Ltd.
He joined his father’s firm of L. S. Eva & Co. in 1972 after nine years in the Taxation Department. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982 and became a partner in that year.
Subsequently he practised as a sole practitioner for 10 years. During this time he has dealt with most aspects of accounting, taxation and auditing, and is keen to extend the services offered by us to all clients.
Associate
Mr Matthew Drew, CA, B. Bus (Hons.)
Matthew joined the firm in January 2003. Upon receiving his Chartered Accountancy qualification, Matthew was appointed an Associate of the firm on 1st August 2008.
Matt's particular professional interests are in the business services area of the firm, specialising in taxation, superannuation and computer accounting systems.
